Turning Heads – A Community Interest Company announces its exciting development and opportunities for residents of Torquay.
Thursday 2nd February from 1 – 3pm is the official launch of Turning Heads social supermarket @ Victoria Park Methodist Church in Plainmoor, Torquay.
The social supermarket will also have a warm space, community café and meeting space.
This exciting initiative will see Turning Heads staff, volunteers and trainees helping to support and bolster the work of the Food Alliance and Torbay Council into supporting and empowering the residents of Torquay.
The initiative has been funded by Torbay Council, ASDA, Arnold Clark and Northern Power.
We are currently working alongside other partners in The Torbay Food Alliance and our aim in this project is to help reduce food inequalities, improve public health and to empower people.
Please feel free to join us and help promote this exciting community project.
This Christmas, Turning Heads ran the HAF project which provides any school child who is eligible for free school meals access to fun activities, cooked food and a chance to meet up, make friends and enjoy time together in the school holidays. This year we ran a variety of craft activities, played group games and did lots of cooking. Huge thanks to the amazing team that ran the activities and to Torbay Youth Trust for helping with the administration and promotion.
On the last Monday before Christmas we celebrated by having a party at The Windmill Centre. Here are a few pictures from the day. We had over 70 people attend a sit down lunch, played Christmas bingo, had a quiz and this was all followed by a disco and then some carol singing.
It was a brilliant way to end 2022 and so glad to see such an amazing group of people all enjoying the occasion.
Turning Heads is due to launch its social supermarket at Victoria Park Church in Plainmoor in January 2023. This is an exciting community venture and one that we need your help with.

Would you like to win a new camera, cinema tickets or an art set?
