Our Directors/Trustees


As Chief Executive, Alan has overall responsibility for the organisation as well as being our Safeguarding Officer. He has extensive experience in education and social care and is a Proud to Care Ambassador.


Benjamin is a Service Delivery and Improvement Manager for a global managed services provider, and sits on the Turning Heads board to support and provide advice around a number of  key business areas which helps the organisation to prosper and achieve it's objectives.

June has been working with young people and adults with additional needs for over 20 years. She brings to the team enthusiasm, art and creative skills and has a person centred approach to everything she does. June is Team Leader and helps to run and co-ordinate the day opportunities from The Windmill Centre as well as sitting on the board of directors.

Our Staff and Volunteer Teams

Rhys is a lifelong Torquay United supporter. He is friendly, bubbly, outgoing and always has a positive outlook seeing the good in everyone. Rhys will be helping to run The Cafe based out of the Windmill Centre. 

Rachel has an extensive background in youth work, working with people of all abilities and ages and brings to Turning Heads a wealth of experience. She loves listening to live music and spending time with her family. 


Nicola brings lots of experience to the team. She used to work as a support worker for United Response and is also a qualified barber. She has a son with a disability and her skill set involves working with people of all ages and abilities. 

Fiona joins th team this Easter to run our school's HAF programme. She is a forest school's leader and has been in education for over 20 years. Fiona shares her love of nature and mindfulness in her forest school sessions.

Micheal joins the team with considerable volunteering experience. He works in the week at Chicks in Torquay and is also a mentor for Phab Club Torquay. Micheal loves pool and is keen to take on anyone at the community centre
